How I achieved a clean blue on my client (step by step)

Getting a strong, even blue is all about two things: a uniform lightened base and healthy hair structure so the pigment can sit evenly.

Here’s the exact process I used to achieve this result.

Goal

Create a deep, vibrant blue while avoiding:

  • patchiness,

  • dull or transparent ends,

  • unnecessary stress on the hair.

Step 1 — Controlled lightening

To build the right base, I lightened the hair using:

  • Framesi Decolor B No Dust

  • 20 volume developer

I worked to keep the lift as even and consistent as possible, because a clean base is what makes the blue look “pure” and not muddy.

Step 2 — Bond protection: 101 + 102

During the service I used:

  • Framesi Pro-Force Bonder 101 (bond builder)

  • Framesi Pro-Force Sealer 102 (bond sealer)

This is a key step for me when lightening. It helps support the hair fiber and avoid breakage. The hair feels better after rinsing and the color result looks more polished and even.

Step 3 — Blue color application (deposit + saturation)

Once the base was ready, I applied:

  • Framesi Framcolor Glamour 6.22 (Blue)

  • 10 volume developer

I chose 10 volume because at this stage I want maximum deposit and saturation, not additional lift.

Final result

A bold, even, glossy blue, with hair that still looks and feels in good condition.

Pro tip

With blues, your result depends on:

  • a consistent lightened base,

  • bond support during lightening,

  • choosing the right developer to deposit pigment.
